CROWN

A crown (also called a cap) can be made of different kinds of metal, porcelain or porcelain fused to metal. Situations where a crown may be necessary: tooth has a root canal; tooth has a large filling; tooth is broken or tooth is not the right shape or out of line. If a tooth is damaged but not yet lost a crown can cover the damaged portion of your tooth. Crowns can also protect your teeth from any further damage.

BRIDGE

When a tooth is lost it is recommended to replace it as soon as possible to prevent remaining teeth from shifting out of line.  The bridge is cemented to the teeth on each side of the missing one. Bridges (also known as a fixed bridge) are a permanent non-removable way to replace one or more missing teeth.
