Take 1-2 Ibuproben (Advil, Motrin) or Tylenol tablets in 30 minutes. After the first dose, 1-2 tablets every 3 to 4 hours ONLY AS NEEDED FOR PAIN. Children can be given children's Tylenol AS DIRECTED.

Bite on the gauze in your mouth for 30 minutes after you leave our office. Only place a fresh gauze if the area is oozing blood when you remove the old one.

NO RINSING the mouth today. Tomorrow, warm salt water rinses can be done every few hours to speed up the healing.

NO ALCOHOL for 24 hours.

NO SMOKING

NO drinking through straws. (These actions can cause dry sockets, a very uncomfortable symptom. Call our office if you develop an ache that isn't relieved with Ibuprofen or Tylenol.

A soft diet is recommended for a day or so. (Pasta, rice, soup, yogurt, bananas, mashed potatoes etc...)

No undue physical exertion-limit your activity level for today.

Phone our office if you have excessive pain, bleeding, or swelling post-operatively.
